MAMOU – The Lady Demons jumped out to a 4-1 lead and then held off a Lady Cat rally as Mamou earned a 5-3 win over Eunice.
Mamou (14-6, 8-2) scored two runs in the bottom of the first as Emily Soileau singled and Taylor Douget followed with a home run over the centerfield fence.
Eunice (8-14, 2-10) closed the gap to 2-1 in the top of the third when Kelsea Aguillard singled and scored on a double by Olivia Thibodeaux.
Mamou answered with two runs in the bottom of the frame to move ahead, 4-1.
Madison Fontenot walked and scored on a fly out by Soileau.
Douget singled and scored on a two-out single by Angel Menier.
Mamou added crucial run in the bottom of the sixth as Terranie Thomas doubled and courtesy runner Kylie Rider scored when Hannah Isreal advanced on a Lady Cat error.
Eunice rallied for two runs in the top of the seventh as Aguillard reached on an error and Thibodeaux blasted a two-out home run over the centerfield fence.
Sophia Fritz earned the complete game win for Mamou as she allowed three earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts.
Thibodeaux went 2-for-4 with three RBI to lead the Lady Cats, whie Cassie Thomas finished 2-for-3.
Aguillard went 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Jailyn Pavich suffered the loss as she allowed four earned runs on eight hits with a strikeout and a walk.
Doucet went 2-for-3 with two RBI, while Thomas finished 2-for-3.
Eunice will hold Senior Day on Tuesday when the Lady Cats face Northwest.
Mamou will travel to Church Point Tuesday.
