34th annual Worldwide Crawfish Etouffee Cook off winners named

The 34th annual Worldwide Crawfish Etouffee Cook off was held Sunday at the Northwest Pavilion in Eunice.
Despite the cooler temperature and windy conditions people came out to sample etouffee, eat boiled crawfish and other foods and refreshments, listen to bands and dance.
The official painting of the 34th Crawfish Etouffee Cook off by Amelia Vidrine Smith was auctioned off and the new owner, Frances Foster, who bidded at $700 claimed is painting. An annousmous donation of $100 in cash was also given. All proceeds from the sold prints of the painting went back to the Smith family who recently loss their family home in a total loss fire.
Winners were named at the conclusion of the event in cooking and showmanship divisions.
In the Showmanship/Booth Decoration category, clubs and organization division, winners were Chataignier Supper Club, first place; The Eunice Mardi Gras Association took second place.
The Professional division of Showmanship category, winners were, Elect State Rep. Rhonda Butler won first place; and LakeView RV Park & Beach took home second.
In the Amateur of Showmanship category winners were Eunice Career & Technical Education Center (ECTEC) won first place; Eunice Manor won second; and Pelican Glass & Mirror won third place.
In the Cooking category and professional division winners were named. In Professional, first place went to State Rep. Phillip DeVillier, and second place winner was St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s department.
In the Club/Organization, cooking division, first place winner was First Guaranty Bank, and second place winner was Savoy Medical Center.
Amateur cooks won in the Cooking category, those winners were, Eunice City Marshals, first place; Loewer Power Sports won second; and Sunshine Quality Solutions took home third.
Winning the KEUN Listeners Choice Award, voted by the people, was the Pot Lickers team.
