The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration will award funding to the Eunice Airport and the Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport in Patterson, according to a news release from U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins, R-Port Barre.
The Eunice Airport will receive a $450,000 grant to reconstruct and repair 8,700 square yards of the south apron pavement. The Harry P. Williams Memorial Airport will receive a $513,162 grant to reconstruct 19,600 feet of existing perimeter fencing.
Higgins stated, “Local airports are critical economic and industrial engines for South Louisiana. These investments will provide much-needed infrastructure improvements and ensure that our local airports can continue to expand and support local commerce.”
