Two additional suspects, girlfriend and daughter, arrested in June shooting

A father and his daughter, Kiara Thomas, were two of three people arrested in connection to a Eunice shooting last month.
Billy James Thomas is accused of shooting a man in the 400 block of E. Vine Street on June 21. Thomas surrended to law enforcement on July 19 and is now facing an attempted second degree murder charge.
The June shooting happened about 2 a.m. Friday, June 21 in the 400 block of E. Vine Street. The victim was identified as a 43 year old male.
According to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot, the victim was shot once in the upper torso while at his friend’s home.
Lacora Reed, Thomas’ girlfriend, was arrested earlier this week on charges of principal to attempted second degree murder and obstruction of justice.
Chief Fontenot said Reed was in the vehicle with Thomas during the time of the shooting. Chief Fontenot also said she helped Thomas hide and lied to detectives about his location.
Thomas’ daughter Kiara Thomas, 20, was arrested Thursday for her alleged role in hiding Thomas from the police.
Chief Fontenot, said, “If you aide and assist any criminal, we will come after you. If you hold back any information, you will also get arrested for aiding and abetting.”
