First sonography associate degree class receives pins

Seven LSU Eunice students became the first to receive pins in the university’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography associate degree program. LSUE has offered a certificate in diagnostic medical sonography for several years but upgraded the program to an associate degree last year.
Receiving their pins in a ceremony on the LSUE campus Wednesday night was Beth Bearb of Carencro, Alicee Frith of New Iberia, Lanier Hill of Opelousas, Allison Kidder of Carencro, LeAnn Perrodin of Lake Charles, Lauren Popich of Lafayette and Katelyn Vitte of Breaux Bridge.
The students started in the associate degree program in the Fall of 2018 and worked three semesters toward the degree.
The DMS degree is one of five degree programs in the Health Sciences at LSU Eunice. The university also offers Nursing and Surgical Technology in Eunice and Lafayette, Radiologic Technology and Respiratory Care in Eunice.
