The Eunice Centennial Time Capsule was dug up by Mayor Scott Fontenot and city worker Todd Smith on Sept. 14 during Eunice’s 125th birthday anniversary celebration event.
Many different dated items were retrieved.

Xi Beta Theta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi addressed a sealed letter, directed to Citizens of Eunice, LA in the year of 2019.
A sealed letter, from City of Eunice, addressed to Eunice City Council.
A sealed letter from City of Eunice, addressed and printed to “An open letter to People of Eunice,” from Mayor of Eunice Curtis Joubert.
A small sealed manila folder addressed, “A note to future residents of Eunice,” from Jerry Hoffpauir, editor of The Eunice News, dated Thursday, Dec. 29, 1994.
A copy of a bond for CC Duson as sheriff of St. Landry Parish dated February 26, 1877.
