Sometimes putting the finger on a suspect is as easy as finding the one-armed man in Eunice.
“This guy has been getting into all kinds of trouble. The one-armed bandit,” Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot said.
Percy Voris Jr., 29, of the 600 block of College Road, Eunice, is the one-armed man who police picked up Sunday after an attempted burglary at Red Shoe Motors and a burglary at State Bank, Fontenot said.
At 4:44 a.m. Sunday police responded to an alarm at State Bank and Trust on South 4th Street.
Police discovered the bank had been entered by breaking a window.
Police found a suspect wearing a hoodie and walking fast in the area, he said. That guy was stopped, but he wasn’t the person who had entered the bank. He was wanted on a warrant out of Lafayette.
While police were investigating the bank break-in, another call came about a black male wearing a dark hoodie with left arm tucked in or sewn into the hoodie tugging on vehicle doors at Red Shoe Motors.
A suspect riding a bicycle and meeting the description of the person at Red Shoe Motors was stopped on South Vivian at about 11 a.m. Sunday.
Fontenot said police did not find anything missing from Red Shoe or the bank.
Voris was charged with attempted simple burglary and simple burglary.
