The Veterans of Foreign Wars Eunice Post 8971 honored Harold Gournay on his 100th birthday. Gournay is shown at right with the VFW Louisiana State Commander Mickey Carroll, who presented him with a special certificate of recognition from the VFW National Commander-in-Chief William J. “Doc” Schmitz. Gournay is a World War II veteran who was shot down over northern Italy on his 20th mission in 1944 and held as a prisoner until the war ended in 1945.
