A Crowley man has been arrested after he allegedly held a woman against her will and forced her to have sex with him.
Tony J. Trumps, 49, of the 500 block of South Avenue E, has been charged with first-degree rape and false imprisonment, according to Police Chief Jimmy Broussard. Trumps’ bond has been set at $135,000.
According to Broussard, his department was first called to the 400 block of East Jeanette Street at about 1 p.m. Dec. 27 in reference to a possible first-degree rape.
There, officers spoke to a 37-year-old female who reported that she had been held in a makeshift barn/residence against her will and that, while she was being held, she was forced to have sex with her captor.
The victim was transported to Acadia General Hospital.
Officers located Trumps at the barn/residence described by the victim and witnesses in their statements.
Trumps was detained and brought to the Crowley Police Department where investigators interviewed him and, subsequently, re-interviewed witnesses and the victim.
Trumps was ultimately arrested and transported to the Acadia Parish Jail.
