After announcing that a secretary-treasurer would be appointed at the February meeting, Acadia Parish Police Jury President Chance Henry has called a special meeting of the jury tonight to do just that.
The jury met in special session last Tuesday, Jan. 21, to interview candidates for the position. After hearing from five of the nine who submitted resumés, Henry declared the meeting adjourned and said, “We’ll make a decision at the February meeting.”
Other agenda items on tonight’s meeting include:
• replacing David Savoy with Earl Garber on the Louisiana Watershed Initiative Steering Committee; and
• discuss, with possible action, appointing Kolder, Slaven and Co. as the new auditing firm for the parish.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the meeting room on the third floor of the courthouse. It is open to the general public.
The next regularly schedule meeting of the police jury is in two weeks, on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
