New Zion Baptist Church partnered with Three O’Clock Project to become a meal distribution site for St. Landry Parish students. On Friday, there was a line of people in vehicles to obtain meals. One box contained seven days of lunches and seven days of breakfast. The boxed meals included frozen and healthy entrees. One gallon of milk was given out to one box of food. Any child, enrolled in school, 18 years and under, was eligible for a meal. Students did not have to be present with their parent or guardian for the pickup. An 18-wheeler truck, driven by Justin Demoulin from Baton Rouge, arrived at New Zion Baptist Church with many boxes of food and gallons of milk. Workers included Fran Lemelle, Chad Lemelle, Cheryl Stevens, Tanzy Rhines, Mellanie Lemelle, Star Clavier, Linda Reed, Tawania Gallow, Anita Johnson and Steven Gavens. (Photo by Myra Miller)
