A pipeline blowout occurred about noon Wednesday in a field off of Atteberry Road, off of La. 370, east of La. 13 South.
Details were limited, but Fire Chief Harral Johnson of Acadia Parish Fire District 4 was in the field himself checking on the conditions.
The leak is in the area of Degregory and Atteberry roads.
The pipeline as quickly turned off and the scene cleared before 1 p.m., according to Sheriff K.P. Gibson.
There were no evacuations and no injuries reported.
A Ritchie Fire District firefighter said a call was made to the state Department of Environmental Quality and the State Police Hazard Materials and that they were on their way to the scene.
Traffic is blocked off at La. 13 South onto Atteberry Road.
Responding to the incident were units from Ritchie Fire Department, Richard Fire Department, Acadia Parish Fire District 4 and the Acadia Sheriff’s Office.
