Lady Cat trio named to All-District list

Three Lady Bobcats were selected to the 2020 Division III – District 2 All-District Team.
Eunice High’s Gabbie Mitchell was named to the first team, while Sophie Vidrine and Rylea Gradney were placed on honorable mention list.
Iowa’s Lesley LeBleu was named the offensive MVP, while teammate Ana Alexander was selected the defensive MVP.
Iota’s Meredith Hebert was named the district coach of the year.
Joining Mitchell on the first team were Iota’s Dixie Guidry, Amelie Armand and Leah Hebert.
Ty Mouton from Jennings was also on the first team along with Iowa’s Allyson Wrigley and Kamryn Howard.
Second team selections included Iota’s Peyton DuBose and Ella Jabusch along with Bentley Richard and Karagan Howard from Iowa.
Jennings’ Bailey Royer and Jill Fontenot complete the second team list.
Joining Vidrine and Gradney as honorable mention selections are Madelyn Boone and Annsley Gatte from Iota, Jennings’ Lizzie Myers and Morgan Futch along with Iowa’s Lili Martinez.
No. 8 Iota beat Crowley (27-25, 24-26, 25-9, 25-13) in the opening round of the Div. III playoffs.
The Lady Bulldogs’ season ended with a 3-1 loss to No. 9 Pearl River (28-30, 25-20, 25-22, 25-15).
No. 19 Eunice made program history with its first playoff appearance.
The Lady Bobcats fell to No. 14 Brusly (25-16, 25-9, 25-18).
No. 21 Iowa lost in the first round to No.12 North Vermilion (25-17, 25-22, 25-20).
No. 29 Jennings fell to No. 4 Cabrini (25-17, 25-8, 25-10).
