Olia Fontenot Sonnier passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the age of 83. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile with Father Keenan Brown celebrant. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 8 a.m. until time of Services at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Basile.
Olia is survived by four daughters, Lieche Derousselle, Geraldine Mouton, Tracy Richardson, Catherine Thomas; one sister, Mildred Deculus; twenty-two grandchildren and forty-nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Sonnier; her parents, Duffy and Pearl Pappion Fontenot; two sons, Melvin Sonnier. Mervin Sonnier; one daughter, Florence Guillory; one sister, Gertrude Adams
