I’m writing about evictions or lack thereof. From a landlord’s point of view enough is enough.
As much as the government is trying to help those in need, these efforts are hurting others. As in some cases the good suffer for the bad. Landlords certainly do not want to throw families onto the streets, however landlords often see that programs, SNAP, Stimulus, unemployment extensions and such are being abused by some.
I have a tenant that has not paid rent for three months and counting. This household gets all the government benefits plus works for cash but does not pay their rent. Property owners are expected to pay their taxes and are forced to allow these expert freeloaders to occupy property protected by the government. It would be wiser to allow our judges to decide who is evicted by evidence supplied by the landlord to the courts.
In some cases, the government is enabling the drug users another step toward more drug abuse. The drug dealers have been very profitable during this pandemic.
Law breakers know that the authorities are reluctant to arrest folks because of the possibility of the virus being introduced in the jails.
The government, at the federal level, is trying to do what is right but at the local level our system knows best.
If taxpayers stop paying taxes these guys, at the federal level, will need someone to pay their rent.
I wish these guys would stop worrying about who is a democrat or republican and start acting like an American. Hey, how about you guys butt out of the way and let the good Lord do his job?
