An Opelousas man was convicted of first-degree murder for killing his girlfriend.
According to St. Landry Parish District Attorney Chad Pitre, John Edmond Jr. was found guilty by a jury that deliberated several hours on Friday.
Edmond was arrested on March 23, 2018, for the death of Grace Noel.
Edmond is scheduled for sentencing on May 27 before District Judge Jason Meche.
