James “Russel” Courville, born September 8, 1948, quietly left this world Wednesday morning, December 22, 2021, at the age of 73.
James was a United States Army Veteran, Vietnam War Veteran, and member of the Army National Guard.
During his service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device Air Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and the Bronze Star. James lived in Walker, LA with his loving wife LouNel and retired from the Veterans’ Administration in 1996.
James is survived by his wife, LouNel; brothers, Robert and Randy; sister, Kathy; and children, Sean, Jerrod, Benjamen, and Toni.
A Celebration of Life was held in honor of James on January 3, 2022, at Life Church 9036 Florida Blvd, Walker, LA 70785 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.

A memorial Mass for James “Russel” Courville will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Eunice in early February.
