Massive facility in Opelousas could go another 28 years without paying property tax
The Walmart Distribution Center in Opelousas has operated since 1999 with a property tax exemption.
Due to the original agreement, the tax exemption continues for three 10-year intervals, according to Bill Rodier, St. Landry Parish Economic Development executive director.
