Within two years fiber-optic cable is to be installed to about 22,500 households in the Tri-Parish area.
The announcement was made Thursday in a news conference held in the Eunice City Council Chamber.
Monique Boulet, Acadiana Planning Commission chief executive officer, led the conference called by St. Landry Parish President Jessie Bellard and Eunice Mayor Scott Fontenot.
