Dr. Zeb Stearns, a Eunice family practice physician, gave the history and origin of a coroner, and talked about his role as the St. Landry Parish coroner at the Rotary Club meeting Wednesday.
The parish’s coroner seat opened when the former coroner, Dr. Russell Pavich, died on June 10, 2022. Pavich served 26 years as the St. Landry Parish coroner.
