Brush fire northwest of Church Point

A field fire occurred in an area off of La. 370 and Maggie Lane northwest of Church Point. Dusty Edwards, Richard Volunteer Fire Department chief, said the fire was reported at 11:38 a.m. and was under control by about 2 p.m. About 30 acres was burned when winds spread a brush pile fire.
