Karen Fruge, a first year teacher at Highland Early Learning Center, has been nominated for St. Landry Parish’s New Teacher of the Year. She received the honor of New Teacher of the Year at Highland last year.
Fruge began teaching at Highland in 2023. She has 18 pre-k students in her classroom and a paraprofessional Delana Reed with her.
