Eighth annual Parade of Paws

The eighth annual Parade of Paws parade was held Saturday at 3 p.m. on downtown South 2nd.
Organizer and event planner Jerica Guillory held registration in front of Beaucoup on S. 2nd for the event before the parade began. There were over 40 entries.
At the conclusion of the parade, first, second, and third place winners were named and awarded cash prizes. Ribbons of winners were named, The Most Creative, Cajun Classic and Mayor’s Selection and Totally Unpredictable.
Winning first place was Azalea Grace, with owners Rudy and Elizabeth Landry of Port Barre, second place went to Jerica Guillory and Charitie Vidrine with Lochi and Porkie, and third place went to Leia Young with owner Elijah Young of Frisco, Texas.
Samantha Bush’s Marcel and Roux won the Cajun Classic ribbon and Mayor’s Choice ribbon went to Victoria Marcantel with her pup Teddy.
The Most Creative ribbon went to Haven Camille and her owners Elizabeth and Rudy Landry of Port Barre, and Totally Unpredictable ribbon winner was Azalea Grace with her owners Elizabeth and Rudy Landry of Port Barre.
