Evangeline Parish Sheriff Charles Guillory announced the start date for the new parish jail was June 25. Initially, the start date was scheduled for a week prior, but the start was delayed because of tropical weather that moved across the area.
“I’m praying for fair weather the whole time and no major obstacles, and, then, we’ll have us a brand new jail,” the sheriff said.
