Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a single-vehicle fatality hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian on La. 90 near Ebenezer Road in Rayne shortly after 6 a.m. July 14.
The crash claimed the life of 41-year-old Ryan Trahan of Rayne.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Trahan was walking east in the westbound lane of Highway 90 in the early hours of the morning wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans. At the same time, an unknown vehicle was traveling west. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle struck Trahan, failed to stop, and continued west.
Trahan sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
