A crash involving a dump truck and bicyclist claims the life of a Eunice man

Eunice Police responded to a traffic crash involving a dump truck and a bicyclist, at the intersection of N. MLK Drive and East Vine Avenue at 11:14 a.m. Thursday.
The crash claimed the life of 60-year-old Kenneth Ceasor of Eunice, according to a news release from Eunice Police Deputy Chief Jeremy Ivory.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a motorized bicycle, operated by Ceasor, was traveling north on North MLK Drive. At the same time, a 2005 Sterling 3-axle dump truck was also traveling north on North MLK Drive. As the driver of the dump truck began attempts to back his vehicle into a private driveway, Ceasor continued to travel north before being struck by the rear bumper of the dump truck, police report.
Ceasor received fatal injuries and died at the scene.
The driver of the dump truck was not injured.
Standard toxicology samples were collected from both drivers and submitted for analysis.
The crash remains under investigation.
