Water district plans upgrades with nearly $1M in state funding

The Lewisburg-Bellevue Water System, a water district nestled between Opelousas, Church Point and Lawtell, has $940,000 in state funding for upgrades.
Among the upgrades is a digital meter system for its 1,920 member-owners allowing them to use an app to monitor their usage and bill, according to Derrick Comeaux, water system Board treasurer.
