A 21-year-old Opelousas man has been charged with raping a woman he met in Lafayette.
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz reports deputies received a call Oct. 2 in the Lawtell area reporting that a female victim had been beaten and raped.
Detectives met the victim at a local hospital and learned that the victim and suspect met in the Lafayette area.
