Beginning Monday construction will begin on a $5.2 million project on La. 3277 (George Soileau Rd.) from La. 757 to La. 104 in Evangeline Parish, according to the state Department of Transportation and Development
This 4.9-mile project will consist of milling asphaltic concrete, subgrade treatment, in-place base rehab, patching, asphalt overlay, replacing drainage structures, guard rail installation, rumble strips, striping, and related work.
The work is estimated to take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting.
Intermittent lane closures will be required to perform the work, therefore, drivers should expect delays. The road will be open to regular traffic with a 12-foot maximum lane restriction on oversized loads passing through the work zone.
The project is estimated for completion in August.
Emergency vehicles will have access through this area.
