Swamp Pop Reunion XIX will be held March 3 at the Civic Center in Ville Platte, the “Swamp Pop Capital of the World.”
Tickets will be sold on-line through EventBrite.com. Look for the Swamp Pop Reunion event on the EventBrite.com website. Tickets cannot be purchased by phone or mail.
Tickets will also be sold at four Ville Platte locations – the Louisiana Swamp Pop Museum, Ville Platte City Hall, KVPI Radio, and Floyd’s Record Shop. Tickets are $30 per person, and attendees must be at least 18 years old. The Civic Center is located at 704 North Soileau St., Ville Platte.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and music by “Cypress and Willie Tee” will begin at 7 p.m. Featured performers include: Johnnie Allan, Tommy McLain, T.K. Hulin, Lynn August, Jivin Gene, Damon Troy, Junior Dugas, Charles Mann, Kenny Tibbs, Charlie Viellon, Gary T, Tet Dur, Ryan Vanicor, Kyle Dugas, Terry Guidry, Don Rich and Louis Meaux.
Musicians sitting in with “Cypress” are Earl Taylor, Mike Vice and Sid Janise.
Mardi Gras chicken sausage gumbo, jambalaya, adult beverages, and Swamp Pop t-shirts will be sold at the Reunion.
Visit The Louisiana Swamp Pop Museum from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the day of the Swamp Pop Reunion with free admission.
