Members of the Bulb & Blossom Garden Club gathered for their monthly meeting held at the Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
The business meeting centered around programming ideas and topics for next year. The club takes a break during July and August and will begin again in September. Members will close out this year with the observance of National Garden Week, June 1-7.
Club member Jean Johnson was also congratulated for earning first place for the LGCF Award #19, Willie A. Hundley Public Relations Award for her horticulture articles published bimonthly in The Eunice News.
Johnson’s effort was then recognized by Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., with third place for its Public Relations Award #3. Deep South includes the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida.
Celeste Gomez, club member, along with other members, added, “Great work Jean in achieving your goal to bring awareness to the Bulb & Blossom Garden Club and to encourage and educate others about gardening!”
