Kayla Ardoin, 39, of Mamou, has been arrested in connection with the hit-and-run crash that killed Errol Deville, 55, of Eunice, on June 25.
Ardoin was arrested on July 1 by Louisiana State Police Troop I troopers.
Ardoin is charged with felony hit-and-run driving.
A State Police news release reports troopers identified a suspect vehicle and determined Ardoin to be the driver at the time of the crash.
An arrest warrant was obtained through the 13th Judicial District Court, and Ardoin was processed into the Evangeline Parish Jail.
The two-vehicle hit-and run fatality crash involved a motorized bicycle on La. 3149 near its intersection with La. 104 in Evangeline
The preliminary investigation revealed Deville was traveling south on La. 3149 while riding a motorized bicycle. At the same time, a vehicle was also traveling south on La. 3149. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle struck the rear of the bicycle in the southbound lane and fled the scene without calling for assistance or rendering aid.
Deville, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
