The call volume at the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is the lowest it’s been in the last nine years, but the parish is still paying to house about 70 adult prisoners and eight juveniles in other parishes.
Sheriff K.P. Gibson, speaking to the Crowley Lions Club at their luncheon meeting on Sept. 2 said one of the biggest challenges he faces is the housing of prisoners.
