Early voting for the Oct. 11 election will be held from Sept. 27 to Oct. 4 with the exception of Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the courthouse in Opelousas. There will be no early voting in Eunice.
The items on the ballot are as follows:
— Chief of Police, Town of Grand Coteau;
— Chief of Police, Town of Sunset;
— Sales Tax, Town of Washington;
— Millage Renewal, Bayou Mallet and Plaquemine Gravity Drainage District No. 10; and
— Millage Renewal, Ward 1 South Gravity Drainage District.
The deadline to request an absentee-by-mail ballot is Oct. 7 (other than military and overseas.
Voters are encouraged to visit www.geauxvote.com or contact the Registrar’s office to verify their polling location and districts.
