EPD executes search warrant after FBI tip

Officers from the
Eunice Police Department
executed a search warrant
on a residence in the
at the 700 block of South
6th Street following a tip
from the Federal Bureau
of Investigations.
Henry N. Myer, 25,
of Eunice, was arrested
on charges of possession
of a firearm by a convicted
felon, possession
of a firearm in the presence
of CDS, possession
of Schedule II Narcotics,
and possession of drug
paraphernalia in connection
with the incident.
The tip was given to
the EPD around 9:45
a.m. on Thursday.
Eunice Police Chief
Kyle LeBouef said, at
the scene, “The FBI,
the ATF, requested our
assistance on securing a
search warrant for the
residents at the 700 block
of South 6th. They had
information to believe
that some of the residents
in the home had weapons
and other paraphernalia
which may possibly
be linked to a domestic
terrorism. They asked us
to secure the residence,
and to obtain a search
warrant. They utilized
our tactical team to go in
and clear the residence,
investigate, and search
the residence.”
“No shots were fired
and no injuries reported.
We did secure an individual
at a local business
place, and the subject is a
resident of this home. We
do have him in custody.
We do have four others
also in custody that were
in the residence.
“At this time, the
crime is under investigation,
and any forthcoming
charges will be
released at a later date
and time.”
Later that day, it was
announced that Myer
had been arrested
A statement issued
by LeBouef that afternoon
stated the following:
“Myer is currently
on parole and a hold has
been placed on him by
state probation and parole
pending a hearing
by that agency. Officers
seized two handguns,
narcotics, computer
equipment, cell phones,
literature, and tactical
equipment.
“Federal authorities
will be conducting forensic
examinations on the
computers and phones
for further evidence.
The other four individuals
that were detained
at the scene were interviewed
and released.”
“This case remains
under investigation, and
more charges may be
forthcoming on all individuals
involved.”
