White, 28,
of Jennings,
was arrested
with attempted
second
degree
murder.
According
to St. Landry
Parish Sheriff
Bobby
J. Guidroz,
“On October 1, the Shift
Supervisor at the Parish
Jail responded to an attack
upon an inmate on
the first floor. The deputy
found the victim on the
floor, bleeding from an apparent
beating. The deputy
immediately pulled
the victim from the cell
and directed personnel to
summon an ambulance
while administering first
aid.”
Sheriff Guidroz said,
“The victim’s injurieswarrant him transferred
to Lafayette General for
treatment of multiple facial
fractures, a broken
jaw and a brain bleed.
It is alleged that White
punched the victim numerous
times and, once
on the floor, stomped his
head repeatedly.” Sheriff
Guidroz concludes, “Violence
should never be condoned
and will certainly
never be tolerated in our
facility. We stand committed
to the safety of all of
our citizens, even those in
custody.”
