A St. Landry Parish jury returned a verdict on Nov. 13 finding Emery Savoy Jr., 58, of Opelousas, guilty of six counts of sex crimes against a juvenile.
According to a news release from District Attorney Chad Pitre, evidence established that the crimes occurred from 2016 through 2022 and that the victim was Savoy’s neighbor.
