On Saturday, the Eunice Fire Department and St. Landry Parish Fire District 6 responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Threatt Street. Multiple spot fires were noted throughout the property containing various trash and debris items in each and are suspected to be the cause of the structure fire. For more about the fire, see Page. 6. The Eunice Fire Department and Eunice Police Department 2025 statistics were presented to the mayor and the board of alderwomen and aldermen during the regular board meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
