Michael Jerome Vavasseur, 34, of the 100 block of Pinecrest Loop, Sunset, has been charged with simple escape.
According to St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On April 15, Michael Vavasseur was being transported by the STOA Behavioral Health staff from Baton Rouge to the St. Landry Parish Jail.
