2026 Honor Flight Louisiana

Honor Flight
Louisiana
By Dwight Jodon
Dwight Jodon of Eunice made a special trip last week, the 2026 Honor Flight Louisiana.
The April 11 2026 Mission was truly an experience for Jodon.
He said, “The experience was certainly a powerful emotional overload. I am blessed beyond description to have had the opportunity to spend time honoring this group of over 70 veterans and hearing about their service. The honor flight was a one-day, red carpet trip to Washington DC to tour their war memorials.
“Thank you to the absolutely amazing Honor Flight staff who produced a logistical miracle, from flights to buses to meals and everything in between! Your selfless work is such a special blessing to our heroes and their families.
“To the honored veterans of this mission, we watched with tears as you received the respect and appreciation you deserve all throughout the day...from a dual fire truck water salute on arrival at the Baltimore airport, to salutes and applause from United States Naval Academy midshipmen, National Guardsmen, other military representatives and peers as well as members of the public.
“It was especially touching to see a school class from Washington state form a tunnel, applauding and cheering as you walked through. Your humility and courage is an inspiration to us all.”
Eunice Vietnam Army veteran Bob Soileau was on the flight. Jodon was guardian of two veterans, Bob and Harold Steele, Navy, from St. George.
