It is with great sadness that the family of Algee Joseph Savoy announces his passing on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 5:20 p.m. at his residence in Eunice. He was 78.
A celebration of life will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Mathilda Catholic Church in Eunice.
Interment will be at St. Mathilda Church Cemetery in Eunice with the Rev. Hampton Davis officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the Bishop Ceaser Center. A Rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021.
Algee enjoyed attending church, fishing, working as a mechanic, traveling, watching Westerns and Martial Arts movies, and spending time with his family and friends.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his daughter Theresa Savoy Brown of Mamou, a brother, Louis Savoy of Lafayette, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Israel Savoy Sr. and Olivia Watley, two brothers, Percy Savoy and Israel Savoy Jr., three sisters, Elsie Sterling, Elvonia Guillory and Pearl Miniex, and one son, Samuel Simon.
Pall bearers will be Chad Miniex, Cyrus Sterling, John Sterling, Julian Guillory, Jimmy Guillory, and Brandon Freeman.
Frank Brothers Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of all arrangements.
