A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Egan for Anna Marie Hebert, 75, who passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, at 1:16 a.m. at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings surrounded by her loving family.
Fr. Jude Thierry, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church in Egan, officiated for the services.
Burial was held in the Sensat Cemetery in Egan.
The family requested the visitation to be held on Monday at 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary was recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Monday in the funeral home chapel. Visitation resumed on Tuesday at 8 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, James Olan Hebert of Crowley; one daughter, Nancy and husband Daren Dupont of Egan; one son, Quintin and wife Robin Hebert of Iota; two brothers, Ashton “Bud” Leger of Lafayette and Wayne Leger of Lake Arthur; five grandchildren, Danna Benoit Hebert of Jennings, Stefan Bergeron of Church Point, Taylor Marie Smith of Iota, Hailey Hebert of Crowley, Logan Hebert of Iota; five great-grandchildren, Aizlee, Maverick, Liam, Dawson, Jon-Logan.
Mrs. Anna Marie was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church Choir, Catholic Daughters, and the Altar Society. She was a volunteer at the 4-H County Office; she was also a founding member of the first 4-H club at the Southwest Louisiana State School in Iota where she was employed for 27 years.
Mrs. Hebert was preceded in death by parents, Newton Leger Sr. and Anna O. Leger; and one brother, Newton Leger Jr.
