MAMOU–Graveside Services will be held at 1 p.m. at the New St. Ann’s Cemetery in Mamou on Saturday, August 21, 2021, for Aubrey Pierre Fontenot, Jr., 79, who passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Father Bala Rayapati will conduct services.
Inurnment will take place in New St. Ann’s Cemetery.
Aubrey Pierre Fontenot, Jr. was born on August 1, 1942, in Mamou, LA to Aubrey Pierre Fontenot, Sr. and Mae Fontenot.
He enjoyed woodworking and was very creative with his wood projects including model ship building. He loved spending time with his family and friends and cooking for them. His family and friends will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Freida Fruge’ Fontenot; four daughters, Andrea LeBouef and husband, Kyle of Eunice, Roxanne Deshotels and husband, Christopher of Mamou, Shelly Gotreaux of Crowley, and Betina “Tina” Fontenot of Hull, TX; one son, Aubrey “Opey” Pierre Fontenot, III of Mamou; stepdaughter, Christie Stroncheck and husband, Danny of Bridge City, TX; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sandra Deshotels and husband, Robert of Mt. Belview, TX and Connie Wallace of Pasadena, TX.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Pierre Fontenot, Sr. and Mae Fontenot; son, Damien Fontenot; and sister, Maxie Smith.
