MAMOU – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou on Friday, September 21, 2018, for Beatrice Heinen Young, 85, who passed away on September 18, 2018 in Eunice, LA.
Father Billy Massie, pastor of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the mass and will conduct funeral services.
Entombment will take place in the New St. Ann’s Mausoleum.
Born in Eunice, LA on January 8, 1933 to Placide “Sam” Joseph Heinen and Annie Dischler Heinen. Beatrice was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She worked for Dr. Frank P. Savoy, Sr. for many years and then went on to work at Guaranty Bank in Mamou. Beatrice spent many countless hours serving the Lord and her community.
She was a member of the Catholic daughters and a volunteer and religion teacher at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She volunteered as a Pink Lady at Savoy Medical Center. Beatrice was very active resident at Oaklane Wellness & Rehabilitation where she led the rosary for all the residents.
She is survived by two daughters, Angela Young Ramey and husband William P. Ramey, Jr. of North Richland Hills, TX and Liz Young Faul and husband Bruce Anthony Faul of Eunice, LA; son, John Burkeman Young, Jr., and spouse Justin Ashley Ortis of New Iberia, LA; two granddaughters, Amber Faul Vidrine and husband Ryan Vidrine and Elizabeth Ramey; three grandsons, William P. Ramey, III and wife Kelly Juhrden Ramey, Matthew Colin Ramey and wife Jessica Ramey, and Michael Adam Ramey; and four great-grandchildren, Bryce Ryan Vidrine, Alexa Grace Ramey, Colin Ramey, and Nicholas Ramey.
She is proceeded in death by her husband, John Burkeman Young, Sr.; parents, Sam Joseph Heinen and Annie Dischler Heinen; three sisters, Dorothy Heinen, Helen Landry, and Lillian Barron; and three brothers, James “Tunnie” Heinen, Henry “Brother” Heinen, and Louis “Tookie” Heinen.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Mamou on Friday, September 21, 2018 from 8:30 AM until time of service A rosary will be recited at 1:00 PM by Deacon David Guillory.
