It is with great sadness that the family of Benjamin Hurks announces his passing on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 9:23 p.m. at his residence in Eunice. He was 35.
A celebration of life will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. at Frank Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice.
Interment will be at Honey Bee Cemetery the Rev. Tyras Simmons officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Frank Brothers Funeral Home.
Benjamin enjoyed playing video games with his sons, drawing and drafting on his computer.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his mother, Livia N. Clark of Eunice, his father, Ernest Simmons of New Orleans, his sons, Liben J. Hurks of Eunice and Atticus S. Hurks of Lafayette, his brothers, Tyras Simmons of New Orleans, Jalil Jones, Joshua Jones, both of Atlanta, Georgia; Jonah Gobert of Eunice and Ernando Simmons of New Orleans, his sisters, Nanette Simmons, Maria Giles, Sonji Moffett, and Deandrea Simmons, all of New Orleans.
He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Frank Brothers Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of all arrangements.
