EUNICE~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Carol J. Pickell announces her passing on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her home with loving family by her side. She was 73.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal followed in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Matthew Hebert Celebrant.
A loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Carol will be missed by all who knew and loved her especially her husband of 40 years, Everett R. Pickell of Eunice; sons, Steven Oliver and wife, Amy, Kenneth Oliver, and Wendel Oliver and wife, Lena, all of Eunice; daughter, Kathy Oliver of Ville Platte; cousin, Joe Tetlow of Alabama; four sisters, Brenda Lafleur and husband, Earl of Breaux Bridge, JoAnn Reeves and husband, Neil of Eunice, Sandy Manuel of Duralde, and Karen Hebert and husband, Todd of Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Steven Oliver,Jr., Lauren Lomas, Andre Oliver, Jacob Oliver, Bryan Oliver, and James Macias, and Stephanie Gaspard; eleven great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Chester and Elsie Fontenot Manuel, and grandson, Stefan W. Oliver.
At the request of the family, visitation was held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Monday, December 18th from 12:30 pm until 9:00 pm, and again on Tuesday, December 19th from 8:00 am until time of services. Deacon Chuck Ortego recited a rosary at 6:00 pm Monday.
