A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota, Louisiana for Charlotte Gayle Miller, 70, who passed away at her home. Charlotte was the most devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Father Jude Thierry will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Iota from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, August 11, 2018 from 8:00 am until time of the funeral mass. A rosary will be recited on Friday at 6:30 PM by the Catholic Daughters. Entombment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Church Mausoleum.
Charlotte is survived by her loving husband, Paul Gibson Miller of Iota, LA. They would have celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on August 12. She is also survived by her daughter, Tonya Miller Leonards and her husband Kenneth of Crowley, LA, her son-in-law Robert Guidry and his wife Melissa of Iota, LA., three brothers, Patrick Miller and his wife, Becky, of Rayne, LA, Steve Miller and his wife, Loretta, of Iota, LA, and Terry Miller and his wife, Gloria, of Richmond, TX, one sister, Donna Miller Johnson and her husband, Gary, of Katy, TX, one sister-in-law, Roxanne Gravot, of Iota, LA., four grandchildren, Lyle Guidry and his wife, Megan, of Iota, LA, Gavin Guidry and his wife Rachel of Rayne, LA, Abigail Leonards, and Grant Leonards, both of Crowley, LA, and one great-grandson, Winston Guidry of Iota, LA, and another great grandson, Baby Guidry, due in October, and a very close and loving friend, honorary family member, and caretaker, Clothilde Valair, of Iota, LA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Nolan Hugh and Betty Hannon Miller of Iota, LA, and one brother, Timothy Craig Miller, of Iota, LA.
Charlotte was one of the most positive and generous ladies you would ever meet. She always greeted you with a smile and hug. She worked at Iota Elementary as an aide for many years, followed by thirty plus years at Southwest Developmental Center in Iota, Louisiana. Following her retirement, she substituted at Iota Elementary and Iota High School, and volunteered numerous hours at the Christian Care Center in Iota and headed many fundraisers with the IF Club in Iota.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Lyle Guidry, Gavin Guidry, and Grant Leonards, her son-in-laws Kenneth Leonards and Robert Guidry, and her Godchild, David Johnson.
