BASILE~It is with great sadness that the family of Deoradine Fruge announces her passing on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Resthaven Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lake Charles. She was 82. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile. Interment will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Basile with Bishop Rendal Newton officiating.
Deoradine was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her family. She was a very kind and loving woman and spending time with her family and friends brought a great deal of joy to her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her especially her son, Jim Whitaker and wife, Carri of Layton, Utah; his daughter, Janell Barbee and husband, Bobby of Lake Charles; her two brothers, Lewis Ardoin and wife, Dale of Eunice and Hilton Ardoin and wife, Paulette of Moss Bluff; her fourteen grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren; as well as extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Fruge; son, David Whitaker; daughter, Anita Nope; parents, Hadley and Dula Manuel Ardoin; and two brothers, Egbert and Donald Ardoin.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Basile on Saturday, January 19th from 12 noon until time of services.
