Derryel “Spark Plug” Joseph Fontenot passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the age of 66. A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
At the request of family, visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 with a Rosary at 6:00 PM by Deacon Gary Gaudin. Visitation will resume at 8 a.m. on Thursday until time of Services.
“Spark Plug” is survived by his wife, Charlene Doucet Fontenot; two step-sons, Michael Kindall and wife Judy, David Soileau and wife Yvette; one step-daughter, Amanda Johnson and fiance' Jaimie Dye; nine step-grandchildren, George Mohrman, Jr., Robert Johnson, Alanna Johnson, Derek Perkins, Shane Perkins, Bethany Kindall, Micha Jane Kindall, Zack Kindall and Callie Estelle Kindall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hosea and Estelle Johnson Fontenot; one step-son, Daniel Kindall.
Pallbearers will be David Soileau, Brian Doucet, Michael Kindall, Jaimie Dye, Robert Johnson and Shamal Ceasar.
