It is with the heaviest hearts that we announce the passing of Donnie Thibodeaux Sr., our loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all whose lives he touched, on February 13, 2020, at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley. He was in his 70th year. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Matthew Hebert Celebrant.
Donnie was an electrician for over twenty years and in his younger days the 60’s and 70’s he played the keyboard and organ in bands. He was an avid fan of LSU, Saints and NASCAR who loved to watch old comedy shows. But most of all he loved spending his free time with his family.
A devoted family man whose memory will be carried through his wife of fifty years, Linda L. Thibodeaux; his three sons, Donnie Thibodeaux, Jr. and wife, Erica. of Eunice, Derwin Thibodeaux and wife, Charlotte. of Lafayette and Dwayne Thibodeaux and wife, Sonya. of Parks; the joy of his life his grandson, Colton Thibodeaux; his brother, Larren Thibodeaux. and his sister, Debbie Thibodeaux. both of Prattville, Alabama. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Vivian LeBlanc Thibodeaux and his sister, Gail Lavergne.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, February 14th from 3 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday, February 15th from 9 a.m. until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will pray a Rosary at 6 p.m. on Friday.
